The Tango Fire Company of Buenos Aires was formed in 2005 by its producers Andrew Kay & David Vigo The company premiered Tango Fire in Singapore in April 2005. In August of the same year the show was presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it was an instant success. This lead to the company touring extensively around the world over the last 6 years. The groupTangos are choreographed by German Cornejo with Yanina Fajar as collaborator. The individual couples choreograph their own solos as is traditional in the world of Tango in Argentina. Allowing the couples creative freedom creates a showcase of the 5 couples different styles to make the Tango Fire Company of Buenos Aires unique in the world of Tango.

Jesus Hidalgo

Jesus Hidalgo started singing lessons with Jorge Monaco at the age of 13. He won many solo competitions which enabled him to tour Europe.

He learnt from Emilio Balcarce & Walter Rivers who were both a great influence on his career touring extensively with the Walter Rivers orchestra. He was soloist with the orchestra of the School of Tango in Buenos Aires and has performed at the Colon Theatre in Buenos Aires. Jesus has toured extensively in Japan, Spain, Brazil & Italy. In 2008 he featured on a version of the Argentine National Anthem with Mercedes Sosa.

In the first half of 2010 Jesus featured as a soloist in the International Festival of Tango in Granada, Spain and the International Festival of Argentine Tango in Rome, Italy. Jesus joined the Tango Fire Company of Buenos Aires in early 2010.

German Cornejo & Gisela Galeassi

German & Gisela studied tango from the age of 10 & 16 respectively. They learnt classical, contemporary dance, jazz ballet, acrobatics & tango with many of Argentina’s most respected teachers. German & Gisela have been World Tango Champions in 2005 and 2003 respectively. They have participated on top rating TV shows in Argentina; Susana Giménez, Almorzando with Mirtha Legrand, Showmatch and La Noche del 10. They have performed at famous Tango houses & milongas in Buenos Aires, Café Tortoni, Esquina Homero Manzi, Chiquin, Faena Hotel + Universe, El Viejo Almacén, La Viruta, Porteño and Bailarín, Parakultural and Confitería Ideal. German appeared in Vamos al Tango -directed by Osvaldo Berlingeri-, Bien de Tango -with the orchestra El Arranque- and he was guest star in Tango Por La Igualdad. Gisela appeared in Tango Passion -under the musical direction of the renowned Sexteto Mayor-, Tango Seduction, and she starred in the remake of legendary Tango Argentino. Both German & Gisela travelled throughout Japan with Buenos Tangos -directed by  Fabio Hager-, and Tango Dance Premium -with the Fernando Marzan’s Orchestra, Gisela was the choreographer of the show. They have toured internationally since 2003 performing in Latin America, Europe, Africa, Oceania and extensively throughout Asia, United Kingdom and North America. German has been with Tango Fire Company since 2006 & Gisela since 2011.

Mauricio Celis & Ines Cuesta

Both Ines & Mauricio studied different styles of dance before they began dancing Tango together in 1998. They regularly work in important Tango houses in Buenos Aires, Cafe Tortoni, El Querandi, Taconeando, Cambalache and Esquina Carlos Gardel. In Argentina they have participated in Tango performances in hotels, theatres and on television. Dancing in many acclaimed shows Tango Mitos, Tango Desire, Carlos Buono Show and Tango Buenos Aires, they have toured around the world extensively including South America, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Australia, United Kingdom, United States & Canada. Ines and Mauricio joined the Tango Fire Company in 2005

 

 

 

 

Sebastian Alvarez & Victoria Saudelli

Sebastian & Victoria started dancing together in 2000. They are regular guests on popular Argentine TV programs & in the luxury hotels of Buenos Aires. Dancing in the prestigious Tango Houses of Buenos Aires including the Hilton, Dos Meses & Esquina Carlos Gardel they have become Argentina’s sweethearts of Tango with their uniquely contemporary interpretation. Sebastian & Victoria have toured extensively internationally performing in Egypt, Spain, USA, United Kingdom, Russia & extensively throughout Central & South America. They joined the Tango Fire Company in 2008. 

 

 

 

 

 

Gonzalo Cuello & Melody Celatti

Gonzalo and Melody have studied with Argentina’s master Tango teachers Carlos Perez, Roberto Herrera, Mario Morales and Miguel Angel Zoto and danced in the best Buenos Aires Tango houses Piazzolla Tango, La Ventana, Che Tango and Tango Porteño. Melody was Stage Tango World Champion in 2008. They have made a name for themselves touring internationally with different Tango companies Tango x 2, Tango a Tierra & Tango Origin Japan. Gonzalo & Melody have performed in the most important theatres around the world touring Italy, United Kingdom, United States, Switzerland Asia and South America. Melody has been with the Tango Fire company since 2010 and Gonzalo since 2011.

 

 

 

 

 

Marcos Esteban Roberts & Louise Junqueira Malucelli

Marcos and Louise began dancing Tango professionally in 2005 as members of Ballet Mora Godoy in Buenos Aires. Marcos performed in the popular Tango show Tanguera and together they joined Bien de Tango, Tangorama, Puerto Buenos Aires, Tango Encounters, Tango Seduction, Bien Argentin’ and Argentine Bicentennial show at the Stade de France (Paris) with Walter Rios where they were assistant directors and lead dancers. They have toured extensively around the world performing in Brazil,  Korea, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Bosnia, Serbia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Czech Republic. Marcos and Louise joined Tango Fire Company in 2011.
